Stake verification documents are one of the biggest reasons users experience delays or rejected reviews. This guide explains common document categories and how to prepare them safely.

Common document categories

Stake verification may involve identity document, proof of address, selfie or liveness check, payment-related document or account ownership information.

Identity document

Common ID documents may include passport, national ID card or driving licence. A strong ID upload should be valid, readable, complete and unedited.

Proof of address

Proof of address may include bank statement, utility bill, government letter, tax document or official residence document.

Selfie or liveness check

If requested, selfie verification should be completed by the real account owner.

File quality checklist

Before uploading:

• all corners visible
• no blur
• no glare
• no cropped text
• document not expired
• name matches account
• address matches account
• file is not edited
• document type is accepted

Common rejection reasons

Documents may be rejected because of poor lighting, screenshots, expired ID, mismatched information, unsupported type, edited PDF, missing date or old proof of address.

Privacy warning

Never post documents in public forums. Never send private files to unofficial Telegram accounts or strangers.

Document-quality checklist

Stake’s current Help Center states that standard identity documents should be submitted as original photographs, in high resolution and colour, with the full document visible and readable. For national ID cards and driving licences, both sides are listed as required. Screenshots and digitally formatted documents are not accepted for that identity workflow.

Before uploading, check the five failure points most likely to create avoidable friction: clarity, completeness, validity, consistency, and ownership. A clean file is useful only when the information on it also matches the account details requested by the platform.
